The Blue Seed initiative aims to nurture and scale India’s emerging watertech startups, offering capital, mentoring, and global market access.

VA Tech Wabag, the Chennai‑headquartered multinational specialising in water and wastewater treatment, has announced its first investment under the newly launched Blue Seed programme. The maiden investment backs Nimble Vision, a Bengaluru‑based deep tech start‑up developing indigenous solutions for water conservation, automation, and real‑time analytics for an undisclosed amount.

The Blue Seed initiative is designed to nurture and scale innovative water‑tech start‑ups across India, supporting waterpreneurs with capital, mentoring, and access to global markets. By combining Nimble Vision’s innovation with WABAG’s international expertise, the partnership aims to accelerate digital transformation in water infrastructure and strengthen India’s self‑reliant water technology ecosystem.

WABAG said the investment deepens its commitment to innovation‑led growth in the water sector.

“While the seed amount remains confidential, this strategic commitment gives WABAG a key stake in the company. Beyond capital, we will mentor the Nimble Vision team, open access to our global markets, and provide incubation support across our Indian and international offices.”

The strategic investment will enable Nimble Vision to expand IoT‑based automation systems for water supply, treatment, and distribution. It will also enhance AI‑driven predictive analytics for leakage detection, energy optimisation, and water quality management.

The startup will also accelerate the development of indigenous smart sensors and controllers under the Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) initiative, while deploying scalable water conservation and automation platforms across municipalities, industries, and communities.
