Against the earlier order of Calcutta High Court, ABG Ports has filed a special leave petition (SLP) with the Supreme Court (SC) seeking approval to remove its equipment out of Haldia Dock Complex (HDC) in Kolkata Port.

Earlier, the Calcutta High Court ordered the firm not to take the equipment out of India, and also said that special officers, along with KoPT, be informed of its location.

The filing of SLP with the apex court was confirmed by Saket Agarwal, Director, ABG Ports.

Haldia Bulk Terminals (HBT), a joint venture of ABG Infralogistics and French firm Louis Dreyfus Armateurs, had pulled out of its operations at Haldia, breaking a 10-year-contract (2010-20) on October 31, citing law and order issues.

HBT was asked to pay a compensation of Rs 233 crore by the Kolkata Port for the loss in business caused by its exit.
