Urban Development and Housing Minister M Venkaiah Naidu assured Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel to expedite the approval of the Ahmedabad Metro project, once the state completes the required formalities. The DPR of the 35-km long Ahmedabad Metro project has been prepared by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and has now been forwarded to the Centre for final approval. The project, involving
six km underground and 29 km elevated and estimated to cost about Rs 10,675 crore, would be implemented with equal partnership between the state and the Centre.
