An order has been passed by the Andhra Pradesh government which will facilitate allotment of 104 acre for the Rs 12,136 crore Hyderabad Metro Rail project to be developed by concessionaire L&T. This order is based on consent award wherein a farmer will agree to part with one acre of land in lieu of allotment of 1,000 acres of developed land. The government has approved the proposal to allot 104 acre to Hyderabad Metro rail project and 150 acre to Hyderabad Metro Water Works by collecting Rs 25 lakh an acre as development cost. AP Chief Minister will meet Mamata Banerjee to request her to speed up the pending projects, including the introduction of new trains and lines in the past and request for inclusion of certain new ones in the next budget.
