The Andhra Pradesh government has permitted its Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) to enhance the toll plaza user fee being collected from bus passengers on national highways with immediate effect. The Corporation will now collect Rs 4 from passengers of Pallevelugu and Express buses; Rs 5 from Deluxe and Super Luxury, Indra and Garuda buses; and Rs 6 from Garuda Plus (Multi Axle) and Vennela passengers with immediate effect, it is learnt.
In a letter to the transport department, APRTC vice- chairman and managing director AK Khan said national highways had started levying of user fee on motor vehicles and the Corporation is paying user fee at the rate of Rs 1.84 per km per bus on an average on buses plying on four and six lane national highways.
