Residents of Empire Estate housing colony in PimpriChinchwad of Pune area have complained about bad roads and traffic problems they are facing in their locality. Construction of a flyover by the PimpriChinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to connect Kalewadi and ChinchwadMIDC areas has become a problem for the residents. Buildings of the society are located on either side of the main road where the flyover is being built. As many as 8,000 residents of the colony have complained about potholes, a waterlogged main road and illegal parking at the construction site.
Apartments are located on either side of the main road. where the construction work is on. which passes from the centre of the residential colony. The construction work has been going on for two years when it should have been done in one and half years. The road passing through the residential colony has been dug up and fenced for the construction. It has numerous potholes where rainwater gets accumulated and the roads are slushy.
The civic body must complete the flyover at the earliest and tar the road to reduce our hardships, said Empire Estate Federation office bearers.
