With an objective to bring transparency in the road related works, the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) proposed the Road History project two years ago, but the project has not yet been implemented so far. The project was planned after the fake bills scam surfaced two years ago in the Palike.
According to the Road History project, each road will be given a distinct number, and details of every road including date of asphalting, construction of drain, number of streetlights and trees on a particular stretch, will be posted on the website.
Sources in the BBMP tells that the authorities concerned are not serious about implementing the GIS-based Road History project.
