BHEL to execute govt power projects overseas

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) will be entrusted with the task of executing all overseas power projects financed by the Union Government. In addition to that the Union Heavy Industries Ministry will high preference to BHEL while procuring spares and services for its foreign power projects. Besides giving preference to BHEL, the Union government would take steps to provide a level-playing field to local power gear makers and equipment manufacturers. As part of the task, the ministry would ask the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) to issue directive.
