In Jammu and Kashmir, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) on September 27 started construction of Reasi-Mahore road and submitted compliance report after the District Magistrate initiated criminal proceedings against its Chief Engineer and notice served up the DG BRO for bad condition of roads in Reasi.
The DG BRO has also informed Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary to Governor, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Divisional Commissioner Jammu and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Reasi through written fax about the road construction work.
The BRO has sought 4 months time for blacktopping of Katra-Reasi road.The DC has directed BRO to submit weekly status report about construction work and also open a grievance redressal cell for handling public complaints.
