The Haryana Public Works Department (PWD) has stated that the re-carpeting and re-construction of MG Road in Gurgaon will be completed within six months. The heavy vehicular traffic on the stretch was delaying the work, PWD authorities said. The work was taken up last month when Gurgaon and Delhi surburbs were witnessing heavy rains.

Rs 157 cr for road repairs in West Bengal
The 127 civic bodies in West Bengal were allocated Rs 157 crore by the State government for repair of major roads in the state. The allocation is keeping in view of the ensuing Durgapuja in the state. Kolkata Municipal Corporation is also included in the civic bodies for the allocation.
Plea to Kerala govt for completion of new bridge in Kalady
In Ernakulam district of Kerala, MLAs Jose Thettayil and Saju Paul have asked the government to speed up construction of a new bridge on MC Road at Kalady in the district. The MLAs said in Kochi that the Chief Minister Oommen Chandy should convene a meeting for the timely completion of the bridge.
Work on Jaipur-Gurgaon h’way stretch to pick up pace
Media reports say that now the decks have been cleared for speeding up of the widening of Jaipur-Gurgaon stretch of national highway (NH -8), which has been pending since a long time. Authorities discussed the pending issue on September 10. It is said that consensus has been reached on the issue between officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Rajasthan State government.
Blore Mayor promises to repair HMT road in Jalahalli

Upgradation of roads in Delhi’s Wazirpur begins
In Delhi's Wazirpur industrial area, upgradation of approach roads began on September 12. The Union Telecom and IT Minister Kapil Sibal and Delhi Transport Minister Haroon Yusuf formally inaugurated the work.
Yusuff said that all industrial areas of the national capital would be developed with modern infrastructure and signal window system would also be provided for fast development of industries.
UP govt gives green signal for Agra ring road project
For the construction of Agra inner ring road, the Uttar Pradesh cabinet on September 10 approved bidding process. Under the agreed decision, the Agra Development Authority will bear the cost of allotting land to developers and the project will be implemented on a public-private partnership basis.
NHAI releases Rs 17 cr for Panipat-Jalandhar h’way repairs
For undertaking immediate repairs and maintenance works on the national highway 1 (NH1) between Panipat and Jalandhar, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has released Rs 17 crore to the Punjab and Haryana governments. The NHAI has also served a notice on the project concessionaire Soma Isolux asking it to suspend toll collection as it was not maintaining the highway.
Gurgaon E’way: Banks may take a Rs 1,400 cr haircut
When the government takes over the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway from the concessionaire DS Construction, the lender banks to the project might be forced to take a haircut of more than Rs 1,400 crore. Why because the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has informed the consortium of banks, led by IDFC Bank, that the Authority would pay the lenders only Rs 175-200 crore if it takes over the project.
Commuters demand repairs to Udupi-Manipal road
According to the Udupi City Municipal Council (CMC) in Karnataka, 116 kilometres of roads in Manipal town, coming under the CMC, are badly damaged. The stretch between Tiger Circle and Syndicate Circle on Udupi-Manipal Road is damaged at Tiger Circle, Manipal Bus Stand area in front of Manipal Post Office and Syndicate Circle. Parts of Kallinapur-Santhekatte to Udyavara stretch on National Highway 66, which passes through Udupi, are also damaged.
