BMC’s plan to let locals park on one side of road

A new parking policy for Mumbai is being brought out by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) under which BMC plans to give permits to local residents to park vehicles on road. The BMC is compiling a list of roads where residents can park vehicles on one side of the road. They will then be given annual permits allowing them to park their cars there; no other vehicle can park on these roads. Punjab to repair 11,000 km link roads

Punjab government on May 21 gave its nod for the repair of link roads covering 11,000 km at a cost of Rs 1,700 crore across the state to be completed by June, 2014. The State Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal gave his nod for the road repairs while reviewing the status of national highways, district roads, link roads, ROBs/RUBs, government buildings and several other infrastructure projects.

In Jharkhand's Hazaribag, the District Deputy Commissioner ManishRanjan has sanctioned Rs 80 lakh for repair and construction of rural roads and bridges from the development funds that the district received from the state government. The money was sanctioned after the DC reviewed the progress of construction of roads and bridges both in the rural area and the state highways with the engineers of the PWD roads division and the Hazaribag special (rural) division here on Sunday.
