Road repairs will be taken up in all the 100 wards of Madurai by the Madurai Corporation soon, the city Mayor VV Rajan Chellappa said. The road works are to be taken up under the Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme, he added.

Tardy work on national highway 66 in Udupi blamed
Pointing out that there had been no progress in the work on NH 66 in Udupi district of Karnataka, K Raghupati Bhat, MLA, on January 26 accused Udupi-Chikmagalur MP K Jayaprakash Hegde of failing to expedite work on the widening of the National Highway 66. Bhat told the media in Mangalore that there had been no progress in the work on NH 66 ever since Hegde became an MP.
Chennai’s Thiruvanmiyur to get four-lane flyover
In Chennai, work to construct a 1.3 km-long flyover crossing three junctions in Thiruvanmiyur is likely to commence by September. According to the proposal, the flyover will cross the Jayanthi-Theyagaraja theatres junction, the one after the Marundeeswarar temple and the RTO office.
