Tender amended to avoid delay in road work
Limiting just one road contract to each contractor, the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) is preparing the re-tendering process for Nagarotthan, the Maharashtra State government-funded road development project.
State seeks IAF’s help for road work in border areas
To construct roads bordering China, the Uttarakhand government has sought the Indian Air Force's help to airlift construction material to the border areas. Uttarakhand shares 350 km international border with China. Reports say that China is strengthening its road network on the Indo-China border.
Panel to formulate guidelines for road projects
Only guidelines will be formulated by the Rangarajan panel, appointed by the Union government on the premium rescheduling of road projects. The task of implementing the guidelines rests with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), say sources in the government.

Govt to pace up Delhi-Jaipur expressway
The Union government is looking at two options to make the Delhi-Jaipur expressway as a viable project. The Union highways ministry may either allow the developer to collect the toll from the adjacent Delhi-Gurgaon and Gurgaon-Jaipur highway stretches or, the expressway could also be built via the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) route, using funding from multilateral agencies, if necessary.
IOC’s roadshows in S’pore, Hong Kong to sell stake
For the sale of its 10 per cent stake in the country's largest oil firm Indian Oil Corp (IOC), the Union government is holding investor meetings this week in Singapore and Hong Kong. The government has already held roadshows in the US and the UK last week for the purpose.
DMICC to invite RFQ, RFP for Mumbai-Blore road corridor
For the proposed Mumbai-Bangalore industrial corridor, request for qualification and request for proposals (RFQ and RFP) have been invited from consulting firms. The Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Corporation (DMICC) has invited the RFQ and RFP. DMICC will shortlist the firms by December-end.
Delhi’s NH-24 to be 14-laned for Meerut e’way
Work on the proposed Delhi-Meerut expressway from Nizamuddin Bridge on Ring Road will be started by the Road Transport and Highways Department. This is one of the three expressway projects that the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) is monitoring with the target of awarding work in this financial year.
Rs one crore for Thane-Belapur road maintenance
For the annual maintenance of the 13-km-long Thane-Belapur road, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is planning to appoint two contractors. The NMMC is to spend around Rs 1 crore for the annual maintenance of the road.
