Proposed road projects that have not finished the acquisition of the required land for the purpose will not get loans from State Bank of India (SBI). The decision has been taken by SBI on the requisition of Central Bureau of Investigation and Chief Vigilance Commission. SBI is IndiaÂ’s biggest moneylender.

Bengal govt to widen roads to aid industries
To help industrialisation in West Bengal, the State government will improve road connectivity by widening nearly 4,000 km of State highways, said the State Commerce and Industries Minister Partha Chatterjee. Widening of around 1,000-km State highway is likely to be completed this year, he added.

Nod to 4-laning of Jorhat-Demow h’way stretch in Assam

Centre okays Rs 2,000 cr JNPT road project
A project to upgrade a road to Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT) in Mumbai has been approved by the Union government on September 23. The road project involves a total expenditure of Rs 1,943.37 crore. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the road development project, to be undertaken by Mumbai JNPT Port Road Company (MJPRCL).
