Centre blames State’s laxity for delay of NH-8 widening

The Union Road Transport and Highways Ministry has blamed the Rajasthan government’s indolence in land acquisition as prime cause for the delay of road projects, especially in the widening of NH-8 between Jaipur and Delhi. According to NHAI officials, the Ministry lists the major reason for delay as the failure of the State government in acquiring land at Shahpura, Pawata , Kotputli and Behror.

The Union Ministry has prepared a detailed reply to the State government putting forth all the issues for the delay of road projects.

The communication mentions that the major reason has been the failure of State government in acquiring land at Shahpura, Pawata, Kotputli and Behror for the project, officials of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) said.
