Coal India hiked prices of different grades of coal by an average 12 per cent for some of its consumers, increasing its revenue by Rs 6,000 crore a year. The rise in price will help CIL meet its rising costs at a time when the company is reeling under stagnant output and adverse effects of environmental laws.
