The much-anticipated coastal road project is set to delay further by at least three months with the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority instructing the BMC to revise its plan to reduce extent of mangrove to be affected. As the BMC starts work on changing the alignment, the technical consultants have been asked to consider an alternative to the undersea tunnel, an alteration that would also involve a significant reduction in costs.
