Ducon Technologies (I) Pvt Ltd has announced that the company has secured a prestigious pet coke pipe conveyor contract from Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, for its Guwahati Refinery, through a national competitive bidding process.

The scope of this turnkey contract also includes conveying of lime, fly ash and bed ash handling for the new boiler being installed at the refinery. Pet coke is lifted from its storage yard location and transported through DuconÂ’s advanced pipe conveying technology to the boiler island, travelling a distance of 700 meters and at an elevation of 27 meters. Ducon will provide complete HAZOP Study, basic & detailed engineering, and all equipment for disciplines like civil, structural, piping, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation.

“Ducon qualified for this project through our successfully completed pipe conveyor projects at aluminum smelters in northeast India and we secured this order against tough competition from global giants like ThyssenKrupp and Macmet,” said Aron Govil, Chairman & CEO of Ducon Group. “With more and more industries beginning to use pet coke as fuel for their boiler, we believe that this project will position us as a leading player in this segment utilising pipe conveyor technology,” continued Govil.
