Indus Towers, the world´s largest telecom tower company, has announced the appointment of Bimal Dayal as the Chief Executive Officer-Designate with immediate effect. He succeeds BS Shantharaju who has been with Indus Towers for over six years and will be retiring with effect from March 31, 2016. During the next six months, Shantharaju will smoothly transition Dayal to the new role. Dayal has been associated with Indus Towers since 2010 as its Chief Operating Officer (COO).
He brings with him a unique blend of Indian and global experience with exposure spanning global majors like Ericsson, Qualcomm, BT Gloal, Hutchison, Telenor and Tata Telecom. As Managing Director of Ericsson in Sri Lanka, he was responsible for the entire range of´manage & operate´ functions, including planning, O&M, rollout/deployment and network assurance. During his tenure there, he successfully steered the company to become the Sri Lanka´s number one player in telecom infrastructure.
Dayal has almost three decades of industry experience and holds a double Bachelor´s degree in Engineering and Law. He is also an alumnus of the Harvard Business School, where he pursued a programme in Advance Management.
