Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) last week began the construction of a 600-metre flyover at Subhash Chowk in New Gurgaon. Once the flyover opens to the public in the area can expect relief from frequent snarls. The facility is expected to provide smooth vehicular movement between Huda City Centre and Hero Honda Chowk on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway.

On May 10, a team of Huda officials visited the proposed site on Sohna Road and inspected underground facilities such as electricity, water and sewage lines in the area.

Mahipal, junior engineer (JE), Huda, who led the inspection team said that with the help of metal detectors, they are locating underground gas pipelines, power cables and water lines near the site to identify the spot where pillar of the flyover can be installed.

Pipelines of sewage, storm water, and two gas supply lines of Haryana City Gas and Gas authority of India limited (GAIL) are running underground at the construction site. The authorities want basic services such as water and power not to get disrupted in the upscale localities along Sohna Road due to the flyover work.
