The Goa government has asked the Dabolim airport, managed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) in the state, to new permission from the it (Goa State government). The State government stated that the airport is running its terminal without valid consent to operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act 1981 since November 2011.

Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) on June 5 directed the airport director to apply for renewal of the consent to operate the existing terminal which expired on November 6, 2011. GSPCB sources said they will impose a fine on AAI, Goa airport, for operating the terminal without the consents. Besides this, the new integrated terminal building for the airport also does not have the consents under the air and water acts.
