To prevent accidents traffic regulations in Vijayawada is a must, the District Collector Budha-prakash M Jyothi stated while addressing road safety meeting in the city on February 1. The collector said that the road safety committee members inspected the highway near Kanakadurga temple ghat road.

He said that people are facing problem due to traffic congestion at the place and asked the officials to arrange road dividers for traffic regulation. The collector said that the vehicles coming from Hyderabad enter the city through the narrow road near temple ghat road and from Errakatta road.

As the Errakatta road was damaged the government sanctioned Rs 2.2 crore for developing the road. He asked the municipal officials to complete the tender process immediately. He said that the pipelines on the Errakatta road should be repaired to prevent leakage.

The collector asked the officials to submit proposals to arrange signalling system on BRTS road.
