India retained the top slot as the fastest growing domestic air traffic market in September with a demand growth of 13.2 per cent over same month last year. Data from International Air Transport Association shows that demand growth in India was the highest amongst countries including Australia, Brazil, China, Japan, Russia and the US. Between January-September passenger demand in India grew 19.3 per cent over the corresponding period of last year. Passenger traffic in India has been growing due to 15-20 per cent drop in fares and increase in capacity.
