The service, launched on November 15, follows IndiGo’s earlier Mumbai-Manchester debut and signals its ambition to expand India-UK connectivity.
IndiGo, India’s largest airline by passenger volume and fleet, has inaugurated direct connectivity between Delhi and Manchester, marking a major expansion of its long‑haul international network.
The service, launched on November 15, follows the airline’s earlier debut on the Mumbai-Manchester route and marks its ambition to strengthen flights on the India-UK sectors.
The five‑times‑weekly flights are operated with Boeing 787‑9 Dreamliner aircraft on damp lease from Norse Atlantic Airways. Configured with 56 IndiGoStretch seats and 282 Economy Class seats, the aircraft offers enhanced comfort for long‑haul travel.
Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), one of India’s leading global gateways, now hosts IndiGo’s first long‑haul services from the capital. On the UK side, Manchester Airport serves as the primary hub for Northern England, offering onward connectivity to Leeds, Liverpool, and Newcastle.
IndiGo said the new route is expected to boost trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between India and the UK, while reinforcing its position as India’s fastest‑growing carrier.
