The government has decided to go ahead with the Jaitapur nuclear project and introduce a bill to set up an independent regulator. The project’s location is in seismic zone III, not prone to earthquakes of high intensity. Indian nuclear plants are known to build redundancies into the locational aspects, as an expert in Infrastructure Today (April 2011) says.
