Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda inaugurated the Ranchi-Patratu road on November 21. The 35.27 km road is constructed at a cost of Rs 203 crore. The road passes through Patratu valley and around 16.6 km of the project is four-lane and the rest is two lane. The road has 10 high mast lights and six bus bays.

The Chief Minister said the road was expected to boost industrialisation process in the region as the mineral-rich area already has Jindal Steel and Power and a power plant of the Jharkhand State Electricity Board (JSEB). The JSEB is also working on a plan to set up a mega power plant with a generation capacity of around 1,300 mw.

JSEB has a plant in Patratu, Munda said that it is a great opportunity for the state to utilise the infrastructure and develop the area into industrial zone. Big corporate and small entrepreneurs can use this area to set up plants and contribute in the state’s growth.
