Kerala allocates emergency aid for road repairs

The Kerala government has allocated an emergency assistance of Rs 143.5 crore for repairing roads that were damaged during monsoon. The amount is being given to complete repair work immediately after monsoon, said the State Public Works Minister VK Ibrahim Kunju.

In addition to this, Rs 50,000 each has been allocated to 176 assistant engineers in the state to carry out maintenance work during emergency situations. Based on the expenditure, more amount will be allocated, he said. Tenders were floated to the tune of Rs 32 crore for drainage cleaning.
