For the overall development of Vizhinjam port, the Kerala government has sanctioned Rs 1 crore and Rs 3.80 crore for Beypore Port. In Vizhinjam port, Rs 50 lakh each will be used to construct channel marketing buoys and fire fighting system respectively.

Rs 3 crore has been earmarked for reach stacker at Beypore port which will help in handling cargo operations. Rs 60 lakh will be used to set up fire fighting mechanism at the port. The decision was taken at the high-level meeting held in Thiruvananthapuram recently, said Krala Fisheries and Port Minister K Babu.

The Minister said that an amount of Rs 3 crore has been earmarked for reach stacker at Beypore port which will help in handling cargo operations. A sum of Rs 60 lakh will be used to set up fire fighting mechanism at the port.
