Aero India 2017, ‘Asia’s Premier Air Show’, organised by Defence Exhibition Organisation, Ministry of Defence and Government of India, is a biennial Air Show and Aviation Exhibition.

The 11th international show on Aerospace, Defence, Civil Aviation, Airport Infrastructure and Defence Engineering was inaugurated by Manohar Parrikkar, Defence Minister, at 9.30 am on 14th February 2017 at Air Force Station Yeahanka, Bangalore.

Aero India 2017 with ‘Make in India’ theme logically focuses on Aerospace, Defence, Civil Aviation, Airport Infrastructure and Defence Engineering and has attached a record number of participants from the International and the Indian Industry.

Aero India 2017 has provided a significant platform in bolstering business opportunities in the International Aviation Sector. It has favourably poised an exponential growth over the previous edition.

A rapidly growing economy, defence preparedness challenges and opening up of defence production to private sector, have given a major fillip to the defence industry in India. It has also become a hub centre for the defence business in Asia.

KINFRA Defence Park is a Greenfield Manufacturing Cluster, first of its kind in the country, financially supported by Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, GoI under the Modified Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Scheme (MIIUS), is being developed by Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA) at Ottapalam, Palakkad.

The participation in Aero India 2017 by KINFRA has been a great venue to explore the opportunities of marketing the Defence Park.

A total of 549 companies took part in the event, of which 270 were Indian and 279 were foreign organisations. About 2 lakh business visitors took part in the Aero India 2017.
