To make Telangana a power surplus state, TS Genco has commenced 800 MW power generation at the Kothagudem Thermal Power Station (KTPS) seventh phase. Chairman and Managing Director of TS Genco Prabhakar Rao formally launched power production in Paloncha of Kothagudem district and synchronised it to the power grid. The seventh phase 800 MW plant of KTPS started after the formation of Telangana with an estimated cost of Rs 57 billion. The works began in February 1, 2015.
