Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways said that his ministry has decided to construct a concrete four-lane road on the Mumbai-Goa national highway. A concrete four-lane road will not require maintenance for over 100 years, according to Gadkari. He said that his ministry has started work of constructing 15 bridges on the Goa-Mumbai concrete road route. Gadkari said that the Goa-Mumbai highway witnesses many accidents and most of the people involved in accidents are tourists coming to Goa.
