Nagpur Mayor Anil Sole has taken the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) officials to a task at a review meeting and threatened them that he would complete road repair works with the help of citizens if the officials fail to complete the job at the earliest.
Sole said that the NMC administration will have to repair major roads within the deadline. NMC’s standing committee chairman Avinash Thakre had recently accepted that it would not be possible to repair the bad roads in the city before Diwali next month.
Sole said repairing of potholes and bad patches before the Deekshabhoomi fest on next Sunday and Diwali is very important. He stated that the State government is responsible for NMC’s weak financial status as it introduced LBT without taking us into confidence. It is not giving any financial assistance to bridge the gap between octroi and LBT revenue, he said.
