State-run power producer NTPC will reportedly take a call on the appointment of a mine developercum- operator (MDO) for its Jharkhand mine at a board meeting in late September. According to reports, a venture of Thriveni Earthmovers and Sainik Mining has emerged as the lowest bidder for the Rs 23,000 crore contract of the Pakri-Barwadih coal block. As many as 15 entities had submitted bids for the coal block but three, including Adani Enterprises and AMR India have qualified for the final round.
