Odisha government proposed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to upgrade road connectivity to six non-major ports in Astarang, Baliharchandi, Gopalpur, Dhamra, Chudamani and Subarnarekha.
It may be recalled that in February 2012, the Odisha government awarded the contract for feasibility studies for four-lane connectivity to these non-major ports to two consultants.
However, the state government decided to prepare feasibility study reports by itself. Accordingly, the NHAI has suspended the contract agreements.
