On Tuesday Chief minister Pramod Sawant reviewed the under-construction projects taken up by the Goa Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC). He further directed that they should be completed within the given time. He further asked GSIDC to execute the Paikul bridge in Valpoi, which washed out because of the floods, on a priority basis.
Sawant held a board meeting in which he reviewed a total of 51 projects costing a minimum of Rs 5 crore. The total cost of the projects reviewed by him is around Rs 300 crore. The projects comprise the construction of the Tar bridge in Mapusa, the district court in Merces, the terminal building of the captain of ports in Panaji, Kala Bhavan in Sancoale, Ravindra Bhavans in Curchorem and Canacona, the pedestrian bridge at Patto and Bhoma market complex, and Paikul bridge in Valpoi among others.
Sawant said that they have not taken up any new projects. However, the ongoing projects, especially those related to health and schools, would be completed on time. He issued instructions to enable financial provisions for the completion of the projects.
