The Planning Commission will suggest a pricing formula and method of reallocation of spectrum once the tenure of existing licences runs out. Licences will be renewed for 10-year-period compared with 20 years currently. TRAI has asked the government to impose a one-time pan-India fee of Rs 4,572 crore for every unit of airwaves telcos hold beyond the contracted limit.
