To find out the reasons for delay in construction of railway overbridge (ROB) at COD Crossing in Kanpur Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highway has constituted a four-member committee.

The Union Road Transport Minister CP Joshi had also asked the committee to inspect the COD bridge under construction and give suggestions for speedy execution of the project.

Even the Union Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal met Joshi a few days back and discussed the issue with him.
The Ministry had released Rs 25 crore to UP Public Works Department. The PWD had given contract to Vishwa Infrastructure & Services, Hyderabad to construct the railway overbridge.

Vishwa Infrastructure & Services left the job after executing 30 per cent of work. As a result, the progress of the project was almost closed. Jaiswal had also expressed disappointment over the delay in four-lane road between Rama Devi and Jajmau bridge.

The National Highway Authority of India had to construct around 5 kilometre of road on National highway number 25. Reason behind the delay is stated to be the increased cost of construction. Gamon India had been asked to construct the road but the construction company had stopped working due to increased cost. The company had asked to enhance the allocated funds.
