Rs 14.29 cr approved for widening of Nagpur’s Lam Road

In Nagpur, the widening of Lam Road from Saubhagya Nagar to Deolali Camp has got a green signal as the district collectorate has, in principle, approved the Rs 14.29-crore proposal from the Deolali Cantonment Board. The six-km stretch will be converted into four lanes with proper dividers, streetlights, footpaths, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Deolali Cantonment Board, Amol Jagtap said.

It was the only proposal sent to the district administration from the Deolali Cantonment Board, as part of the Kumbh mela works. With rising population, the density of vehicles on Lam Road is on the rise as it is the main link from Nashik to the Deolali Camp and Bhagur.

Apart from this, people also use this road for travelling to Taked, Ghoti-Sinnar Road. People from Mumbai too have properties in Deolali Camp and the rush of farmers is also constant, he added.
