An export processing centre and Gate Module have been launched by the Customs Department at ICTT Vallarpadam for speedy export clearance. TheÃÂīCustoms Export Processing CentreÃÂī (CEPC) and Gate Module of the Indian Customs EDI System (ICES) were inaugurated by JM Shanthi Sundharam, Member, Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC), at a function in Kochi. The Directorate of Systems and CBEC have developed the Gate Module specifically for ICTT for the efficient and fast clearance of containers. With the introduction of the Gate Module, all export container movement between the Container Freight Station (CFS) and ICTT can now be tracked. The CEPC provides a single window system for clearance and will help eliminate the unnecessary container traffic between CFS and ICTT, ensuring speedy processing of export.
