To improve road connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh, the Union government has approved a network of roads and bridges at a cost of Rs 819 crore. The Union Rural Development Ministry's decision in this regard comes just ahead of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to Beijing and it emphasises the strategic importance of the bordering state over parts of which China lays claim.

Better road connectivity key to development: Governor
For overall development of Arunachal Pradesh better road connectivity is essential in the state, the State Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Nirbhay Sharma emphasised. Jindal Power projects in Arunachal face hindrances
