For constructing four bridges connecting Goshree Islands in Kochi, the Kerala government has given its in-principle nod, said the State Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in the city on May 12. The division, which is headed by executive engineer Satish Chikhlikar, was allocated an annual sum of Rs 40 crore in 2012-13. Among the various projects undertaken by the division are the construction of Kadwa bridge on Pimpalgaon-Dindori Roa

Goa govt set to collect toll on its roads
The Goa government has notified draft rules which propose charging vehicles for using State highway, district road, village road and bridges, but have exempted Goan private vehicles from this regime. While two wheelers are also exempted, commercial vehicles will have to pay the requisite fees.
Kochi’s approach roads are unsafe: NHAI
The NHAI officials have expressed their concern over the stability of approach roads of bridges constructed on the highways in Kochi and adjacent areas including Aroor.
