Infrastructure output in Oct down by 0.6%
The Union government's data on December 2 showed that country's infrastructure sector output fell 0.6 per cent year-on-year in October mainly on lower natural gas and coal production, after growing at its fastest clip in one year the previous month. Output grew at 8 per cent in September.
NHAI says 70% land available for NH31D four-laning
The data by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) shows that nearly 70 per cent of the land required for four-laning NH31D is already available, but because of land problems, 327 hectares has not been acquired yet. NHAI has given the data to the Union Ministry of Economic Affairs for action. The total land required to make the highway four-lane is 1,072 hectares (2,648 acres), NHAI said.
Demand for diesel grows more despite price rise
As per the data with the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) of the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, consumption of diesel continues to grow at a faster pace than other petroleum products despite the regular hike in diesel prices. Diesel consumption grew by 4.2 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) in April to 6.2 million tonne.
