To carry out any construction in its operational area
Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) will now have to obtain prior permission from the Goa government authorities. The State's Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) has directed MPT to submit a layout and building plans of the area allotted to MPT, along with a master plan for future development to the statutory authorities.

The Goa government has notified draft rules which propose charging vehicles for using State highway, district road, village road and bridges, but have exempted Goan private vehicles from this regime. While two wheelers are also exempted, commercial vehicles will have to pay the requisite fees. The draft says that other heavy mechanical vehicles such as mobile crane dozers, earthmovers, road rollers will have to pay Rs 1,000.

Goa to invite global tenders for new airport in March
A global tender is going to be invited by the Goa Government for its new airport project at Mopa in the northern part of the state. The State Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said that the new airport will be developed on a public private partnership basis.
