Private equity inflows into the country’s real estate sector surged 62 per cent to Rs 38,000 crore, during 2016, largely helped by Parliament’s clearance of two significant legislations — the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Bill and GST, says a report.
Weathering the cash disruption
There is never a dull moment in real estate. 2016 began promisingly in comparison to 2015; however, as things stand, the year isn´t expected to end on a healthy note. A major factor for this could be attributed to the policy developments by the government, which in the short term have led to an unpredictable disruption, but in the long run are projected to augur well for the industry as a whole.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Petrotech 2016 conference on December 5, 2016, in New Delhi where he added, ´At the moment, the piped natural gas network in India is 15,000 km in length.

For the first time in 70 years, logistics personnel are getting trained
The Logistics Sector Skill Council (LSC) trains candidates at the entry level for the warehousing sub sector. Training is done on specific job roles such as pickers/ packers/ binning /kitting/labelling and forklift and reach truck operators, and warehouse supervisors i.e., an ´outcome´ based training, which ensures candidates are job ready from day one.
The warehousing sector is going to experience a sea change in its structure
With the total warehousing space requirement in the country´s top seven markets expected to grow from 621 mn sq ft in 2016 to 839 mn sq ft by 2020, the warehousing sector has shown tremendous traction in the past couple of years. Further, investment in warehousing can provide an opportunity of realising returns in the range of 10-24 per cent per annum.
