The Highways Department has completed widening and strengthening of the road running along the left bank of the Cauvery river. The project was executed under the Comprehensive Road Infrastructure Development Programme at an estimate of Rs 39.50 crore.

Work to be resumed on Porur flyover in Chennai
In Chennai, work on the flyover at the busy junction in Porur has been put on hold by the highways department as there was a delay on the part of Chennai Metrowater in shifting water mains from the Chembarambakkam lake that run beneath the roadÂ’s surface.
