Locals file case against road widening in Hyd

In Hyderabad, the Lokayukta has registered a case against Serilingampally MLA Bikshapathi Yadav and GHMC Commissioner MT Krishna Babu in connection with a road widening project from Botanical Gardens in Kondapur to the Old Bombay Highway. The case has been registered following a complaint filed by residents of Masid Banda village. According to the complaint, the widening will lead to encroachment upon reserve forest land and a water body.

GHMC asked to cut width of Mozam Jahi Market Road

Hyderabad Mayor Mohd Majid Hussain has directed GHMC Commissioner Krishna Babu to reduce the proposed width of the Mozam Jahi Market Road from 150 feet to 100 feet. The standing committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of the mayor at GHMC head office on June 27. He said the standing committee would inspect Musi river, Bandlaguda tank and Peddamma cheruvu before giving sanction for providing chain link fencing for the water bodies.
