GVK to exit Punjab power plant
GVK Power & Infrastructure is planning to sell its under construction 540 MW Goindwal Sahib power plant in Punjab to NTPC. The project expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2014-15, has a 25 year power purchase agreement with the Punjab State Power Commission.
Reliance’s Butibori plant now fully operational
Reliance Power said its 600 MW coal-based power plant at Butibori in Maharashtra is fully operational. Butibori Power Project is being developed by Vidarbha Industries Power (VIPL), a subsidiary of Reliance Power.
Alstom concludes contract with BHEL
Alstom has been awarded a Ç40 million contract by Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) to supply three 660 MW supercritical boilers for North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project in Jharkhand. The units are expected to be commissioned in 2017.
