To build a beautiful marina (waterfront) for harbour in Mumbai, tenders have been invited by the Mumbai Port Trust. It is to build a specially designed harbour at the port for luxury boats. This specially designed harbour, known as marina to many, will be spread over 4.5 hectares in water and one hectare over land.

NGO plans green fence to Mumbai-Pune E’way
To form a fencing with trees to the busiest 93 km Mumbai-Pune express highway, a Mumbai-based non-governmental organisation, Fulora Foundation is to plant 1.5 lakh trees. The objective of the tree planting is to form a fence to the highway, on which the number of accidents were rising in recent times, say media reports.
Chennai firm to start cruise liner from Mumbai
Using Mumbai as a home port, a cruise liner service will be started by a Chennai-based company Newport Maritime by next year. Newport Maritime, founded by Sivakumar Elayathamby Sinnarajah, a person of Sri Lankan origin and a US citizen, plans to invest $400 million over five years to run the service with two used luxury cruise ships.
Eastern Freeway in Mumbai to get another flyover
The Eastern Freeway in Mumbai has been very useful to commuters, but it has also added to the bottleneck at Panjrapole junction in Chembur. To avoid this, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) now plans to ease the congestion at Panjrapole junction in Chembur by building an additional flyover.
Red Ford to invest Rs 1,000 cr in Lotus Green
Red Ford Capital, a Mumbai-based private Equity fund company, will buy a minority stake in Lotus Green's various real estate projects. Two townships have been planned by Lotus in Delhi. Lotus Greeen is also involved in the business of hotels, healthcare and education.

Centre okays Rs 2,000 cr JNPT road project
A project to upgrade a road to Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT) in Mumbai has been approved by the Union government on September 23. The road project involves a total expenditure of Rs 1,943.37 crore. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the road development project, to be undertaken by Mumbai JNPT Port Road Company (MJPRCL).
Essar Oil in parleys with Ecopetrol to up imports
India's Essar Oil and Ecopetrol, the Colombian gas major and the fourth-largest oil and gas company in Latin America, are set to cement ties. Ecopetrol's three-member delegation, along with the ambassador of Colombia to India and other senior officials held extensive meetings with Essar Oil on September 18 in Mumbai.
