Tata Power is setting up 160 MW wind projects throughout the country. Tata Power already has an installed wind energy generation capacity of 398 MW with projects across Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. From wind projects, the company saw its electricity generation rose 43 per cent to 813 million units in the year ended March 2013 from 569 million units in the previous year.
Rajasthan to form squads to check road works
In Rajasthan, the State Public Works Department (PWD) has decided to form flying squads to inspect the quality of road works in the state. A total of 10 flying squads will be formed. These teams will check to conform the roads made as per the norms laid down for quality control.
Govt to invite Rs 20,000 cr bids for power projects
The Union government is to call global bids in the next two months for a dozen inter-state power transmission projects worth over Rs 20,000 crore. The government's initiative is to connect power generation projects in Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu states.
Pact day announced for Sadbhav road project in Rajasthan
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has fixed October 9 as appointed date for a Rs 778-crore worth road widening project in Rajasthan. Infrastructure firm Sadbhav Engineering has bagged the road project from NHAI recently, the company said on October 4.
Rajasthan to have worlds largest solar plant
Worlds largest solar plant has been planned in Rajasthan to generate 4,000 MW near the Sambhar lake. The solar plants first phase is estimated to be completed by 2016. It is planned to sell electricity from the solar plant at Rs 5.50 per unit. According to a government statement, the proposed solar projects capacity is about three times Indias total solar power capacity.

ADB loan to Rajasthan
To boost Rajasthan's renewable energy capacity and to construct a power transmission system in the state, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has agreed to provide a loan of $500 million.
Rs 37,230-cr refinery to develop Rajasthan economically: CM
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation's (HPCL) Rs 37,230-crore refinery-cum-petrochemical project at Pachpadra in Barmer of Rajasthan is said to help the state develop economically enormously. According to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, the project is expected to bring an overall investment of Rs 60,000-70,000 crore in the area.
