The World Bank (WB) has funded Rs 1,362 crore for modernisation of roads which includes rural road connectivity programme. In this, 1,056 revenue villages having population 250-499 (as per census 2001) in 21 districts shall be connected by all-weather roads in Rajasthan. The major components of the projects are road section modernisation and performance enhancement.

NALCO commissions 2nd wind power project
National Aluminium Company (NALCO) has set up its second wind power plant at Ludarva in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan with a capacity of 47.6 MW. This Rs 283 crore project was executed through Gamesa Wind Turbines, which involved erection of 56 wind turbines, each of 850 kW rating. In the first phase of commissioning, 36 turbines were erected. Now, in the second phase, the remaining 20 turbines have been successfully commissioned.

MoU signed for mega road project
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Rajasthan state government and the World Bank for road projects that connect 1,056 identified villages with an assistance of Rs 1,200 crore from the World Bank. The state PWD Minister Yunus Khan said notice inviting tenders would be issued soon and work would begin in the next 60 days.
Jaipur’s roads face lack of green cover
Rajasthan's capital Jaipur has no sufficient green cover. As per the Master Plan 2025, the city should have the mandatory 20 per cent green cover, but it has only 11.3 per cent of its area under green cover. As per Master Plan 25, the entry roads from Delhi, Ajmer, Sikar and Agra supposed to have green corridor of 30 to 45 metre on either side of the approach.
